Springbank is a great place to fly. We have some of the best scenery in the world right here in our own back yard. The airport itself is located in a rural area surrounded by farms, ranches, and many smaller communities like Cochrane and Bragg Creek.

Since our pilot training taught us to be environmentally sensitive (your instructor DID mention that, didn?t s/he?), there are some things to keep in mind when flying CYBW. In regards to procedures, the following recommendations should be conformed to as closely as possible:

1. Avoid overflying noise sensitive areas such as acreage, farms and residences, unless it is safe and you are directed by ATC.
2. Runway 16/34 preferred when operationally safe.
3. Between 23:00 - 07:00 local time, circuits are discouraged.
4. Climb to 4500 ASL prior to turnout unless otherwise directed by ATC.
5. Between 23:00 - 07:00 local time, all maintenance run-ups are discouraged.
