SABPA Opposed To The Calgary Airport Authorities Proposed Jet Restrictions for the Springbank Airpor

The Springbank Airport Business and Pilots Association (SABPA), which membership includes CBAA members and COPA members that operate out of the Calgary Springbank Airport (CYBW) have opposed the proposed jet restriction that the Calgary Airport Authority (CAA) would like to use in the Canada Flight Supplement (CFS). At present ,Springbank Airport is "limited to propeller driven aircraft up to 12,500 pounds gross takeoff weight" as stated in the CFS.

SABPA Opposed To The Harmony Development Plan

Springbank Airport Business and Pilots Association (SABPA) on behalf of it's membership wrote a letter to Ken Venner of the Municipal District of Rockyview opposing the Application 2005-RV-324 Conceptual Scheme (Harmony Development). SABPA stated that our association whose members are largely comprised of taxpayers in the MD of Rockyview are very concerned with the Harmony plan.

Springbank Airport Runway 16/34 scheduled opening.

The opening of Springbank's new 5000' runway is scheduled for 1800Z on Thursday October 26, 2006. The weather has delayed the painting of runway markings and an obstacle issue with Transport Canada has delayed the opening. For more up to date information refer to NOTAMS.

EPIC and Canadian Centre For Aircraft Certification Are At Springbank

Thanks To The Behind The Scenes Work Of Barney Britton. If it wasn't for Barney Britton involvement Epic Air wouldn't have considered a move to the Springbank Airport (CYBW) and the need of a Canadian Centre for Aircraft Certification (CCAC) may never have been proposed.
